My wish: Exhibit my paintings in flower shops!

Region (Oise) – La “peinture à l’huile c’est bien difficile … mais bien plus beau que la peinture à l’eau” [oil painting is quite difficult … but much nicer than water painting]. Véronique, autodidact and amateur of art, very definitely shares this view. Having lived in Oise for now 40 years, a region appreciated by painters (only mentioning Daubigny or Van Gogh), She always has seen painting as a possibility to play with colors. This preference quicly led her to represent flowers in bouquets, finding inspiration in her garden.

Flowers as a theme of expression

Substituting rigour and technique with the pleasure of arranging forms and colors, it is very often in one shot, captured first hand, « à la prima », that she better expresses her passion. The spatula is certainly her favourite tool, as it allows her to instill a powerful and continuous emotion dominating reason. Flowers are ideally suited for this, because of related symbols mixing with its langages, between equilibrium and bouquet arrangement.

According to her, it is the best material to be manipulated. Impatient, She seeks an inmediate result and particularly likes its special texture. In addition, the contact with bare canvas, made of linen or cotton, brings a really unique satisfaction.

Beyond rules and constraints, the essential lies in the assiduity and the willingness to enjoy the moment. Painting has to keep on being « something light but nourishing for oneself and others », regarding Véronique.
